オンにもオフにも100%の情熱を注ぎ、「よく働き、よく遊ぶ」を体現するコンテンツディレクターのマット・テイラー。課題が山積したプロジェクトに対するタスクの進め方に定評があり、ファンキー・コープが抱える様々なインバウンドコンテンツ制作おいて、クリエイティブなアイデアと熱意でチームを率いるのが彼の仕事。
インバウンドコンテンツ制作の難しさを熟知するだけに、プロジェクトの成功を祝う時には、皆が心から喜びをシェアできるよう、乾杯のグラスが手元にないメンバーはいないかと気を配ることを忘れません。「つまり、“よく生きる”こと。それこそが人生だよ」。
入社のきっかけは、和歌山県多言語観光ウェブサイト「Visit Wakayama」の制作プロジェクトにフリーランスライター兼翻訳家として参加したことでした。入社後は、JNTOのグローバルサイトのリニューアル事業をエディターとして経験。外国人視点のインバウンドコンテンツ制作の新たな道を切り拓くため、観光コンテンツの編集や執筆経験豊富な英語ネイティブで構成される「コンテンツチーム」を社内に組織し、日本の文化や歴史に深く切り込んだ魅力的なインバウンドコンテンツを制作しています。 ファンキー・コープで働くことを心地よさは、「自分自身に挑戦し、肩書き以上の自分へと成長できる環境」。流暢な日本語を武器に、現在は、コンテンツ制作のみならず、コンテンツ戦略や多言語化戦略の立案、ライティングスタイルガイドの策定など、さまざまな業務に携わっています。
休暇になれば、観光情報の「作り手」から「ユーザー」へと立場を変え、日本国内のみならず、遠くアイスランドからバリ島まで興味の赴くままに旅へ。天気のよい休日には都内を散策したり、サイクリングを楽しむことも。
「東京のスカイラインが好きなんだ。この街にいると、自分の中にエネルギーが満ちていくのが感じられるよ」。

Equally passionate about his job as he is enjoying life, our content director embodies the mantra “work hard, play hard,” or as Matt puts it, “Life is for living!” He’s full of energy, passion and creative ideas about the myriad projects we are working on, and he keeps us motivated with his Spotify playlists and his quick-fire GIFs. For his own afternoon pick-me-up, he reaches for a quadruple-shot Starbucks latte. Matt knows how to get things done in the thick of a challenging project, but when it’s time to celebrate our victories, he makes sure nobody is left without a drink in hand.
Matt cut his teeth at FunkyCorp as a freelancer, translating and writing for the Visit Wakayama site. He was quickly hired as a full-timer to work on projects from the behemoth JNTO site renewal to microsites on high profile historical areas. At the office, he wears many other hats: project manager, HR, localization strategy… One of the things he loves about working at FunkyCorp, he says, is that “it’s an environment where I can challenge myself and grow beyond my job title.”
