What’s New and Funky: Visit Nikko

We are proud to announce the launch of the Visit Nikko website, the product of months of work and planning. Nikko is already one of the most well-known tourist spots in Japan with easy access from Tokyo, but few visitors go past the iconic Nikko Toshogu Shrine, and even fewer stay overnight.

Our goal was to showcase Nikko’s appeal beyond its World Heritage-designated temples and shrines, and encourage further exploration of the area. With an abundance of hot springs and a national park in the area, we highlighted alternative trip ideas, ryokan stays, and detailed road trips. In addition to rewriting the legacy website’s existing text, we added thousands of words of new content, re-imagined the design, and overhauled the user experience (UX).

By introducing users to all of Nikko — shrines and sake breweries, major hot spring resorts and secluded ryokan, majestic waterfalls and flower-lined wetlands — the new website positions Nikko as a landmark destination with exciting multi-day itineraries for any type of traveler.
